Harvest Has Begun

As you may know, I live in one of the
"fly over states"
and we have begun harvesting the wheat in our fields.

It is an all day job and then some. I will leave in the morning around 8:00 and be back home around 11:00 or 12:00 midnight. We cut as much wheat as we can in a day and it makes for long hours of going up and down fields but I wouldn't change it for anything.
With that being said, I probably won't be on the computer blog hopping or writing many posts for these next two weeks. I come home very tired and smelly. I shower and go right to bed to wake up the next morning and do it all over again.
I LOVE these two weeks in the summer.
Here is a picture of us last year working in the fields. I drive the combine that harvests the wheat so I can't make any mistakes.

I am in the middle.

This is one of my favorite pictures of us. I hope everyone has a fabulous week.
Take Care.
Until Next Time,
          Happy Blogging

  1. I am so jealous! I have lived in KS all my life, and never known anyone or taken part in the amazing wheat harvest:) I was really hoping to do a wheat unit this fall, but have no idea where to purchase seed. Have you heard of the "plant wheat in a straw" experiment? Do you know where I could purchase wheat to plant? Thanks for any information you can give, and I'm sure you won't be able to get back to me for awhile:) I know you're busy!

  3. I'm in Kansas too, but have no wheat to harvest. I had a friend who traveled around for years on a harvesting crew with her husband. She loved it!
